About the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program
Launched in January 2014 at UP, the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program has supported hundreds of young people across Africa in accessing quality education. With the commencement of Phase 2 in January 2024, the program has expanded its reach to support even more scholars, including internally displaced persons, refugees, and individuals living with disabilities.
This transformative initiative develops the next generation of African leaders—equipped not only with academic knowledge but also the values, skills, and mindset needed to catalyze social and economic transformation across the continent.

    Program Vision
